The one hundred and fifty-seventh death anniversary of poet Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib was observed on Sunday.
Born in Agra in 1797, Mirza Ghalib initially began his poetic journey in the Persian language. He later turned to Urdu poetry and became one of its greatest exponents.
He is considered as one of the most influential poets of South Asia.
Mirza Ghalib passed away on this day in 1869 in Delhi.
