ISLAMABAD (BaaghiTV) — September 23, 2026: Pakistan’s air defence system, including the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), has reportedly intercepted and shot down eight drones that entered the country’s airspace, according to security sources.
The sources said four of the drones were brought down near Torkham, while the remaining four were intercepted in mountainous areas near Kohat.

The reported incident comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan following Pakistani airstrikes on September 21 targeting what Islamabad described as militant hideouts in Afghanistan. Pakistan said the strikes killed 28 militants, while Afghan authorities and the United Nations reported that three civilians were killed.
Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities have condemned Pakistan’s strikes and accused Islamabad of violating Afghan sovereignty. The Taliban Foreign Ministry also summoned Pakistan’s chargé d’affaires over the September 21 attacks.
The reported drone interceptions come as fresh cross-border tensions were also reported on September 23.
