The wedding, which took place over the weekend of June 27, combined Korean cultural traditions with Italian elegance and marked the couple’s first public appearance as newlyweds.
The celebrations featured a traditional Korean hanbok welcome party, two wedding ceremonies and a reception attended by close family and friends. Cho wore a custom-designed Vera Wang gown during the main ceremony, while other events incorporated traditional Korean attire and customs, reflecting the couple’s cultural heritage.

Speaking to Vogue, Cho explained why Florence held special meaning for the couple.
“We fell in love with Florence and wanted the weekend to feel like a beautiful vacation where everyone could slow down, celebrate, and make memories together,” she said.
She added, “Italy is special to us, not only because of the food and culture, but because this is where I decided he was my person.”

The wedding weekend was not without challenges. Lost luggage, delayed and cancelled flights affecting relatives, and an intense European heatwave forced the couple to adjust parts of their schedule, including postponing the traditional Korean pyebaek ceremony until family members could arrive. Despite the disruptions, the celebrations continued successfully.

Reflecting on those difficulties, Cho said: “Looking back, this is what made the weekend so special — life isn’t perfect, but the people in our lives came together to make it feel like it was.”
She also referred to a Korean expression, saying: “In Korean, there’s a saying, ‘액땜했다,’ which roughly means that a small hardship spares you from a much bigger one. That’s exactly how we choose to remember our wedding weekend.”

Christopher Lee described the experience as a meaningful beginning to their married life.
“In many ways, it felt like the perfect beginning to our marriage. We learned that even when things don’t go according to plan, we can face them together… and still end up with something even more beautiful than we imagined,” he said.
