Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden Opens in Srinagar, Signaling Arrival of Spring in Kashmir

With the arrival of spring in IIOJK, the famous tulip garden in Srinagar has officially been opened to tourists and local residents. The garden, located at the foothills of the scenic Zabarwan Range, is considered the largest tulip garden in Asia and marks the beginning of the spring tourism season in the valley.

Known as the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, the sprawling garden currently showcases more than 1.7 million vibrant tulips of around 70 different varieties, presenting a spectacular display of colors and fragrances for visitors.

Spread across more than 30 hectares of land, the garden features approximately 200 kanals dedicated to tulip beds, while the remaining area has been developed into landscaped parks and recreational spaces. The blooming tulips have transformed the garden into one of the most popular seasonal attractions in the region.

Every year, thousands of domestic and international tourists visit Srinagar during the spring months to witness the breathtaking floral display. Local authorities expect a significant influx of visitors this season as improved weather conditions and the blooming tulips draw nature lovers and photographers from across the region.

The opening of the tulip garden is widely regarded as a symbol of the valley’s transition from winter to spring, bringing renewed tourism activity and economic opportunities for local businesses in Srinagar.
