Islamabad — March 19, 2026: Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has stated that the sons of former prime minister Imran Khan are welcome to visit Pakistan using their National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), following an appeal by Jemima Goldsmith.
Responding publicly, the minister said, “Imran Khan’s phone call will be arranged on Eid day with his children as done in the past as well.” He further clarified, “His children are welcome to visit Pakistan on their Nicop cards as Pakistani citizens for which no visa is required. However, they will fully comply with the laws of Pakistan during their stay.”

Jemima had earlier raised concerns over delays in visa issuance for her sons, Kasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan, who currently reside in London. She noted that despite applying in January, the process had exceeded the standard timeframe.
In her appeal to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, she stated, “It has now been 60 days,” highlighting the delay beyond the usual 7–10 working days. She also added, “This is an appeal directly to Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz to please allow Imran Khan’s two sons to see their father asap, particularly since, by all accounts, his health is in decline.”

PTI Criticises Government Response
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly reacted to the situation, calling the delay “deeply concerning” and alleging it reflects a failure to uphold “basic human values and family rights.”
In its statement, the party termed the delay a “deliberate delaying tactic… aimed at political victimisation” and questioned why NICOP renewals had not been processed despite prior applications.
PTI further argued that restricting communication between Imran Khan and his sons contradicts “the principles of any civilised society,” urging authorities to facilitate a family meeting given concerns over his health.
