India’s Latest ‘Drama’: Dhurandhar Rap to Play Before Pak-India T20 World Cup Showdown

Adding another layer of off-field intrigue to cricket’s fiercest rivalry, a rap track from the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, banned in Pakistan since its 2025 release, is confirmed for pre-match entertainment ahead of today’s India vs Pakistan group-stage clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Indian rapper Hanumankind, whose global breakout “Big Dawgs” made him a household name and who contributed to Dhurandhar’s soundtrack, will take the stage for a live performance featuring the film’s high-energy tracks. The set is scheduled roughly one hour before the 6:30 PM start, aiming to pump up the 35,000-strong crowd with Bollywood-hip-hop fusion.

Dhurandhar is ban in Pakistan under the long-standing restriction on Indian films since 2019, as well as in Gulf nations like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar over perceived anti-Pakistan content.
