Iranian Missiles Target US Naval Base in Bahrain Amid Escalating US-Israel Strikes on Iran

Bahrain: Emergency air-raid sirens blared across Bahrain today as the country came under direct attack in retaliation for coordinated US and Israeli military strikes on Iran earlier this morning.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry activated nationwide warning sirens, urging citizens and residents to seek immediate shelter in safe locations. Mobile alerts from authorities stated: “The siren has been sounded due to a hazard,” amid reports of multiple explosions in the capital, Manama, particularly near the Juffair district.

The Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the official state media outlet, confirmed that the headquarters and service center of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet – a key American military installation in the kingdom – was subjected to a missile attack. Witnesses reported hearing loud blasts, seeing plumes of smoke rising over the naval base area, and visual footage circulating online purportedly showing missile impacts.

This development follows US President Donald Trump’s announcement of “major combat operations” against Iran, aimed at eliminating perceived threats from its nuclear and missile programs. Israel declared a state of emergency as Iranian ballistic missiles were launched toward its territory, triggering intercepts and sirens there as well.

Explosions were also reported in other Gulf states hosting US facilities, including Kuwait and Abu Dhabi (UAE), with airspace closures in Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE. Sirens sounded in Jordan, and unconfirmed reports mentioned alerts or potential threats in Saudi Arabia, though no major incidents have been verified there yet.

Iranian sources described the strikes on US bases in the region – including Bahrain – as part of a broader retaliatory response. The Pentagon has authorized voluntary departures for military dependents in Bahrain, and US embassies across the Gulf issued shelter-in-place advisories for American citizens.
