KSE-100 Index Surges Over 7% in Dramatic Rebound on Pakistan Stock Exchange

Pakistan’s benchmark KSE-100 Index staged a powerful recovery during Tuesday’s trading session, climbing more than 11,400 points amid heavy buying across major sectors following Monday’s steep decline.
As of approximately 11:00 AM PKT (market open and active), the index stood at 157,908.11, marking a gain of 11,427.97 points or +7.80% from the previous close of 146,480.14.
The sharp upswing comes after the index plunged nearly 7% on March 9, closing at 146,480 amid broader selling pressure, but today’s session saw broad-based gains, particularly in banking, oil & gas, and other blue-chip sectors driving the momentum.
Investors appear to be viewing the prior drop as an overreaction, leading to bargain hunting.
