Tensions over the results of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) elections boiled over into physical violence on Monday, with videos showing male and female lawyers exchanging blows, punches, and kicks inside the court premises going viral on social media.

The incident stemmed from a heated controversy surrounding the annual bar elections held recently. Rival factions, one led by Ahsan Bhoon and the other by Hamid Khan, both claimed victory for their presidential candidates, leading to allegations of irregularities, premature announcement of results, and disputes over vote counting.

According to reports, polling was halted early, with the election board declaring Babar Murtaza from the Hamid Khan group the winner with over 6,200 votes, while the opposing side’s candidate received significantly fewer. The losing group rejected the outcome, sparking protests that escalated into scuffles.

In one widely circulated video clip, a male lawyer is seen striking a female lawyer amid the chaos, followed by broader brawls involving kicks, fists, and heated arguments. Multiple accounts described the scene as lawyers from opposing groups clashing violently, with some footage capturing a senior male lawyer allegedly slapping a female colleague after an exchange of words.

This is a developing story.
