KARACHI (XinHua) — April 16, 2026: Health authorities in Sindh have confirmed a rise in mpox infections, reporting multiple fatalities alongside growing case numbers across several districts, prompting renewed public-health vigilance in Pakistan.
According to figures released by the provincial health department and reported by Xinhua News Agency, nine people have died while 25 confirmed infections have been recorded so far this year.
Officials also noted that more than 120 suspected cases remain under investigation, indicating continued viral transmission.
