RAWALPINDI (Baaghi TV) — August 14, 2026: Pakistan Army personnel deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) marked Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day by conveying messages of national commitment and reaffirming their stated resolve to protect the country’s security and sovereignty.

According to the Pakistan Army’s Independence Day message, personnel serving along the LoC extended greetings to the people of Pakistan and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the country’s defence.

The soldiers said August 14 serves as a reminder of the sacrifices associated with Pakistan’s independence and the importance of national unity and determination.

The message also stated that army personnel remained committed to performing their duties along the country’s borders and protecting national security.

The Pakistan Army further referred to its support for the aspirations of Kashmiris and reiterated its position regarding the Kashmir dispute.

The message also mentioned the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, describing it as an expression of strengthened cooperation and defence coordination among participating countries.

Independence Day Ceremonies held at Military Headquarters

Flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at the headquarters of Pakistan’s armed forces, including General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The national flag was raised during the ceremonies as the national anthem was played, while officers and soldiers observed the occasion in remembrance of those who died in the country’s defence.


According to the military’s account, participants renewed their commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The ceremonies also highlighted the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and civilians in the country’s history.
