Pakistan Forces Respond to Afghan Taliban Regime’s “Provocation” Along Border

Pakistani security forces have delivered what officials described as a “strong and effective response” to alleged provocation by the Afghan Taliban regime along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, according to security sources.

Sources claimed that at least 22 personnel affiliated with the Afghan Taliban regime were killed during the exchange of fire. However, there has been no independent confirmation of the casualties from Afghan authorities so far.

Security officials further stated that the Afghan side attempted to target Pakistani check posts using quadcopters, but the attempt was foiled. All drones were reportedly shot down in a timely response by Pakistani forces.

Heavy and small arms fire is said to be ongoing from the Pakistani side, while aerial surveillance drones are reportedly being used to selectively target Afghan Taliban regime positions, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, Pakistani security officials accused Afghan Taliban-linked media outlets and social media accounts of circulating false claims and fabricated videos related to the incident.

The situation along the border remains tense.
