PMML Announces Four-Day Nationwide Independence Day Celebrations

LAHORE: Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has announced a four-day nationwide program for Independence Day under the slogan “Pakistan ki azadi ka paigham: La Ilaha Illallah ka nizaam.” The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by PMML President Khalid Masood Sandhu, with senior party leaders in attendance.

It was decided that All-Parties Conferences (APCs) would be held across the country on August 11, with invitations extended to leaders of political and religious parties. Senior PMML leaders will also address the conferences.
On August 12 and 13, the party’s affiliated wings, including youth, teachers, lawyers, women and workers, will organize conferences, seminars and rallies. The Muslim Students League will establish Independence Day camps across the country featuring portraits of national heroes and Kashmiri leaders. Public-awareness floats will also operate in urban areas.
On August 14, rallies and programs will be organized at union council and district levels. Religious scholars will highlight the Ideology of Pakistan in Friday sermons.
Speaking at the meeting, PMML President Khalid Masood Sandhu said Pakistan was created in the name of the Kalima after immense sacrifices. He said successive governments had failed to safeguard national interests and had weakened public institutions through corruption and personal interests.
Sandhu said PMML wanted to see a strong, secure and prosperous Pakistan. He urged citizens to participate actively in the Independence Day programs and make the slogan “ Pakistan ki azadi ka paigham: La Ilaha Illallah ka nizaam” a central theme of the celebrations.
