PMML demands accountability in Kahna Tuition Centre Tragedy

Lahore: Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) spokesperson Dr. Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi has described the Kahna tuition centre tragedy as a deeply painful incident that has left the entire nation in mourning. He stressed the need for identifying those responsible and ensuring they are held accountable, while announcing that PMML would undertake education and healthcare initiatives in the affected area.
Speaking to the media after meeting the families of children who lost their lives in the roof collapse at a tuition centre in Kahna, Dr. Hashmi expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. He said the loss of 14 young lives was a national tragedy that demanded a thorough and transparent investigation.
Dr. Hashmi said responsibility should not only rest with those directly linked to the building but also with those whose policies have forced children to study in unsafe and poorly maintained facilities. He stressed that the authorities must determine the real causes of the incident and ensure that all those found responsible are brought to justice.
He said public safety, particularly the safety of schoolchildren, must remain a top priority. According to him, governments have a responsibility to provide safe educational environments so that parents are not compelled to send their children to unsafe private facilities.
The PMML spokesperson added that the party stands with the affected families during this difficult time and will continue to support them in every possible way. He announced that PMML plans to launch education and healthcare projects in Kahna to help improve essential public services in the area and reduce the challenges faced by local residents.
Dr. Hashmi urged the authorities to take practical steps to prevent similar incidents in the future, saying that protecting children’s lives and ensuring access to safe education should remain a national priority.
