PMML Hails Pakistan’s Role in Promoting Regional Peace

LAHORE: President of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), Khalid Masood Sandhu, has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in promoting peace and dialogue during the recent tensions between the United States and Iran, stating that the country has emerged as a responsible and constructive voice on the international stage.
Sandhu said Pakistan played a positive role in supporting efforts aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging peace during the US-Iran conflict. He described the reported ceasefire and diplomatic engagement between the two countries as a significant development for regional and global stability.
He said Pakistan’s participation in peace initiatives reflects its growing importance in international affairs and demonstrates its commitment to regional security and conflict resolution. According to Sandhu, Pakistan’s efforts to encourage dialogue have enhanced the country’s standing in the global community and have become a source of pride for the nation.
The PMML president said the people of Pakistan take pride in seeing their country contribute to peace-building efforts and diplomatic engagement. He also appreciated the role of Pakistan’s civil and military leadership in promoting stability and supporting initiatives aimed at preventing further escalation in the region.
Sandhu noted that easing tensions in the Middle East has already had a positive impact on international energy markets, with oil prices showing signs of decline. He urged the government to pass on the benefits of lower global oil prices to the public by reducing domestic fuel prices accordingly.
He further demanded the abolition of the petroleum levy, arguing that relief should be provided to citizens already facing economic difficulties and rising living costs.
Sandhu said Pakistan should continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace, dialogue and cooperation among nations, adding that diplomatic solutions remain the most effective path to resolving international disputes and ensuring long-term regional stability.
