Seerat offers guidance on workers’ rights and economic justice, Rana Shamshad

Lahore: A Seerat-un-Nabi conference was organised by the Milli Rickshaw Union. Pakistan Milli Labour Federation (PMLF) President Rana Shamshad, Markazi Muslim League Lahore General Secretary Hameed-ul-Hassan Gujjar and other speakers addressed the gathering. A large number of rickshaw drivers attended the conference.

The speakers said the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was not limited to worship and moral teachings. It also provided a complete framework for life, including workers’ rights, economic justice and the welfare of vulnerable sections of society.

They said rising living costs had made it increasingly difficult for rickshaw drivers to meet household expenses and other basic needs. The teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), they said, provided guidance for building a social and economic system that ensured dignity for workers, protection for vulnerable people and access to basic necessities.

The speakers said state resources should be used for public welfare and to improve the lives of working people. They stressed that the principles of the Seerat should be reflected in practical life and public policy.

Such an approach, they said, could help build a welfare-oriented society where every worker was treated with dignity and had better opportunities to provide a secure life for his family.
