The Hindu terms 2025 a year of failure for India

Prominent Indian newspaper The Hindu has termed 2025 a year of failures and defeats for India.
In an article, the newspaper writes that India faced a diplomatic setback at the global level in 2025.
It notes that India lacked the influence and power to fulfill the promises it made to itself and to its partners.
The newspaper terms the Pahalgam false flag operation a serious security failure.
It admits that Indian military operation after the attack did not receive global diplomatic support and the silence on aircraft losses in the war with Pakistan also damaged India’s reputation.
The newspaper writes that the Saudi-Pakistan bilateral defense agreement was an additional blow to India as Indian analysts now consider Pakistan’s leadership to be tough, well-organized and more effective.
About India’s relations with the United States, the newspaper says India has been reduced to a limited role in the US National Security Strategy as compared to 2017.
It writes that India’s presence remained only symbolic in terms of trade and investment due to investment barriers.
The newspaper warns that India’s blaming others is the biggest obstacle to reconciliation and realistic policy making.
