University of Lahore Student jumps from Second Floor in Tragic Incident

LAHORE — January 5, 2026: A tragic incident took place at the University of Lahore where Fatima, a 21-year-old student of D. Pharmacy, jumped from the second floor of the university building.

Immediately after the incident, the student was shifted to a nearby hospital in a seriously injured condition, where according to doctors, her condition is critical and treatment is underway.

According to sources, the incident took place suddenly on the university campus, which caused a wave of concern among the students and staff. As soon as the information was received, the police and the university administration reached the spot and started a preliminary investigation by collecting evidence. The police have started recording the statements of the students, teachers, and other staff to ascertain the nature of the incident.

According to the police and the administration, the initial investigation did not reveal any untoward incident or evidence of violence. Sources say that the student took this extreme step due to personal reasons, however, the final result will be revealed only after the investigation is completed.

According to the report, the university has previously experienced a suicide attempt by a D. Pharmacy student, which has raised questions about the mental health and support system of students at the educational institution.
