Woman Gang-Raped Inside Sleeper Bus in Delhi; Driver and Conductor Arrested

India: In a shocking incident that has once again raised serious concerns over women’s safety in the national capital, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by the driver and conductor of a stationary sleeper bus in Delhi’s Nangloi area.
According to police, the incident took place on May 12. The victim, a married woman and mother of three, approached the police on May 14 and lodged a complaint. She alleged that the two men raped her inside the bus.
Delhi Police registered an FIR after conducting a medical examination of the survivor. Both the accused, the bus driver and conductor, have been arrested, and the vehicle involved has been seized for forensic examination.
Preliminary investigations indicate the bus was stationary at the time of the alleged assault. Authorities are probing how the victim came into contact with the accused and the full sequence of events.
The case has triggered comparisons with the 2012 Nirbhaya incident, leading to renewed demands for stricter safety measures for women passengers, especially in private buses operating during late hours.
