X (Formerly Twitter) Hit by Major Global Outage, Affecting Tens of Thousands

Elon Musk’s social media platform X suffered a significant worldwide outage on Monday, preventing thousands of users from accessing feeds, posting updates, or loading content properly across both the app and website.
The disruption began around 6:00 p.m. PKT, with reports surging rapidly on outage monitoring site Downdetector. User complaints peaked at over 40,000 in the United States, while similar spikes occurred in the United Kingdom, India, and other regions including Pakistan. More than half of the issues involved the mobile app, with about one-fifth related to timeline and feed loading failures, and the remainder tied to general website access problems. Common errors included “Something went wrong” messages, black screens, endless loading on the X logo, and inability to refresh or post.
No official explanation has emerged from X or Elon Musk, whose accounts and the platform’s status page remained silent or inaccessible during the height of the outage. The company has not yet commented publicly on the cause, though some users speculated about server issues or staffing impacts following previous restructurings.
Service is expected to fully stabilize soon, as most such outages resolve within a few hours.
