10 Killed in Tragic Fire at Restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar

At least 10 people were killed after a major fire broke out at a restaurant in Delhi’s upscale Malviya Nagar area on Wednesday morning, officials said.

The blaze erupted at Lemon Green Restaurant in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar around 9:45 AM. Delhi Fire Services (DFS) teams rushed to the spot following an emergency call and launched a swift rescue operation.

According to preliminary reports, 11 people were rescued from the building and rushed to nearby hospitals via CATS ambulances. However, ten individuals succumbed to the incident, with many believed to have died due to smoke inhalation or burns.

Fire officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Early indications suggest it may have originated in the kitchen or electrical wiring, though no official confirmation has been released yet. The intensity of the blaze required multiple fire tenders to bring it under control.

Local residents expressed shock over the incident in the posh locality, which is known for its bustling eateries and residential complexes. Police have cordoned off the area and initiated a probe into possible safety violations, including inadequate fire exits or safety equipment at the restaurant.
