Every FIR a medal, target is 100: Rahul Gandhi

India: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said he currently faces 45 FIRs and wants the number to reach 100, describing each case as “a medal” for him.
Speaking to reporters after an INDIA bloc lunch meeting, Gandhi reacted to a fresh FIR registered against him and other Opposition MPs over Tuesday’s protest at Akashvani Bhawan.
“I have 45 FIRs against me. My target is that there should be 100 FIRs against me. Every FIR against me is a medal for me,” he said.
In a post on X, he added in Hindi: “Every FIR is a medal on my chest. There are 45 so far; my target is 100. Even then, I will continue to fight to protect the Constitution.”
The remarks came as Opposition parties intensified their agitation against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding his resignation and shifting their protest to Jantar Mantar.
