RIYADH (Daily Mail) — September 30, 2026: A Flydubai aircraft travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an unscheduled landing in Saudi Arabia after an incident occurred during the flight.
The Boeing 737 operating as FZ1073 was redirected to Tabuk, where it landed safely with passengers and crew accounted for, according to the airline.
The situation attracted attention after the aircraft transmitted emergency signals while in the air. Flight-tracking information showed the use of code 7700, which indicates a general emergency, followed briefly by 7500, the internationally recognised code for unlawful interference.

The aircraft also experienced a rapid change in altitude before recovering and continuing toward Saudi Arabia.
The unusual flight path initially raised concerns about a possible hijacking. However, an Israeli official subsequently told Reuters that the episode involved a confrontation between the two pilots and was not considered a hijacking.
Accounts from passengers described shouting and confusion near the cockpit. Claims circulating about a stabbing and an alleged attempt to deliberately bring down the aircraft have not been independently confirmed.
The incident prompted a security response in Israel, with military aircraft reportedly scrambled while authorities assessed the situation.

Flydubai confirmed that an incident had taken place but did not disclose details regarding what occurred inside the cockpit.
“Flydubai can confirm that flight FZ 1073 operating from Dubai International (DXB) to Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) experienced an incident while en route,” the airline said.
The carrier said the aircraft subsequently reached Tabuk without further reported problems.
“The aircraft has landed safely in Tabuk Airport (TUU) and all passengers are safe and accounted for,” Flydubai said.

The airline added that its teams were coordinating with authorities involved in examining the incident.

“The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew remain our highest priority,” the carrier said.
The circumstances surrounding the flight remain under investigation. Authorities are expected to establish what caused the cockpit confrontation and the subsequent emergency manoeuvres.
For now, the airline has confirmed the safe arrival of the aircraft and the safety of those aboard. Reports alleging an attempted hijacking or deliberate crash have not been established as confirmed facts.
