Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook Seizes Drugs Worth $96 Million in Arabian Sea Operations

Pakistan Navy ship Yarmook has carried out two successful counter-narcotics operations in the Arabian Sea, seizing a large quantity of drugs valued at approximately $96 million.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted off the Pakistani coast, during which two dhow boats were intercepted. Searches of concealed compartments on the vessels led to the recovery of approximately 850 kilograms of ice (crystal methamphetamine) and 2,000 kilograms of hashish.
The seized narcotics have been taken into custody and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings and disposal.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy for the successful operations, saying the seizures reflected Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding regional maritime security and preventing illicit trade through the sea.
The ISPR said the successful operations demonstrated the Pakistan Navy’s continued surveillance, vigilance and commitment to maintaining maritime security in the region.
It added that operations against illegal trafficking and smuggling through the sea would continue.
