BSF Launches ‘Operation Sard Hawa’ Along Pakistan Border and LOC

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has announced the launch of Operation “Sard Hawa” along the international border with Pakistan in Rajasthan and along the Line of Control (LoC) in the IIOJK. According to sources, under the pretext of preventing alleged infiltration attempts during the winter season—when dense fog severely reduces visibility—security arrangements have been further tightened. The operation will continue until the end of January.
BSF officials claim that intelligence reports have expressed fears that more than 80 suspected infiltrators from Pakistan are waiting to cross the border. In this context, the BSF has deployed additional forces and intensified patrolling. The use of advanced technology, including thermal imaging devices, anti-fog equipment, and drones, has also been stepped up.
Security surveillance has been further enhanced in view of the New Year and Republic Day celebrations.
