Highlighting China’s domestic achievements, the ambassador said the CPC, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, had transformed China through poverty alleviation, industrial development and sustained economic growth. Turning to Pakistan-China cooperation, Jiang described CPEC as the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, stating that it has attracted more than $25.9 billion in direct investment, generated over 260,000 jobs, added 8,000 megawatts of electricity generation capacity and significantly improved Pakistan’s transport and energy infrastructure. He said these projects have contributed to Pakistan’s socio-economic development and laid the foundation for broader cooperation under CPEC 2.0.
