Explosive Material Found Near PM Modi’s Convoy Route in Bengaluru; Six Police Personnel Suspended

India: Narendra Modi’s security arrangements in Bengaluru have come under scrutiny after explosive material was reportedly recovered near the route of his convoy during a visit to the Art of Living Foundation on May 10.

According to police sources, a carton containing gelatin sticks, wires, batteries, timers, and other explosive-related items was discovered during a security check in the outskirts of Bengaluru. The suspicious package was found just 25 feet away from the main road designated for the Prime Minister’s convoy movement.

Following an internal inquiry, the Bengaluru South SP has suspended six police personnel, including a sub-inspector, over alleged negligence in security duties.

Police have launched a high-level investigation to determine how explosive material reached a heavily secured area and whether there were lapses in surveillance and checking procedures by officials deployed on duty.

Authorities said further investigation is underway, while no arrests have been announced so far.
