In next few hours world will get “good news”, says Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Monday that the world could receive “good news” within hours regarding negotiations with Iran, as efforts intensify to resolve the ongoing Middle East crisis.

Speaking to reporters in the Indian capital, Rubio highlighted progress toward a comprehensive agreement that would require Tehran to permanently abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions, reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping without imposing tolls, and return its stockpile of enriched uranium.

The potential deal aims to ease severe disruptions to global oil supplies caused by the closure of the critical waterway. Rubio’s comments come amid heightened tensions in the region and rising energy concerns worldwide.

Rubio is on a four-day visit to India, where he is expected to hold high-level meetings with Narendra Modi.

Discussions are set to focus on strengthening bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and Quad partnership initiatives as Washington seeks alternative energy arrangements to offset the Hormuz-related shortfalls.
