Journalists Caught on Camera Swiping Wine Bottles Amid Post-Shooting Mayhem

In a bizarre footnote to an already chaotic evening, several American journalists were captured on video helping themselves to unattended wine bottles from tables at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night, shortly after a shooting incident forced the evacuation of President Donald Trump and top officials.

As security restored order and some parts of the event briefly resumed before being postponed, footage circulating online showed opportunistic behavior: individuals identifiable as members of the press corps grabbing bottles of wine from the disrupted tables and making off with them in the confusion.
One clip, widely shared on social media, depicts a tuxedo-clad man, appearing to be a reporter, tucking multiple bottles under his arm while glancing around, as others nearby did the same. Witnesses described scenes of spilled wine on white tablecloths and clinking glassware amid the rush for safety, but the post-incident looting of alcohol has drawn sharp criticism.
The incident has sparked a wave of online mockery aimed at the media, with critics highlighting the irony of journalists, often quick to scrutinize others, being filmed in what appears to be petty theft during a high-profile security scare.
