Pakistan Intensifies Efforts to Host Fresh US-Iran Talks in Third Week of April

Pakistan is making maximum high-level diplomatic efforts to host another round of US-Iran negotiations in the third week of April 2026, a senior Pakistani official has confirmed.

The development follows the recent marathon talks in Islamabad that lasted over 21 hours but ended without a final agreement.

According to the official, potential visits by high-profile leaders are expected during the proposed talks, including US President Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkey’s president, Egypt’s prime minister, and Iran’s president.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia on April 15 at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for consultations on regional developments. A high-level Pakistani delegation is also set to travel to China in the coming days as part of broader diplomatic coordination.

Pakistan has emerged as a central neutral facilitator in the 2026 conflict, which stemmed from US-Israeli actions against Iran. Officials continue shuttle diplomacy with regional partners including Turkey and Egypt to build momentum.
