Pakistani National Shot Dead by BSF Near Amritsar Border

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a man who allegedly attempted to cross the Pakistan-India border near Amritsar.

According to sources, the incident took place in the Daoke area of Amritsar, where BSF personnel reportedly spotted a man moving towards the border fence. The personnel allegedly issued multiple warnings to stop, but he ignored the warnings, prompting the BSF to open fire.

The man sustained gunshot wounds and died at the spot.

Police said the deceased was a Pakistani national. During an initial search, no identity documents, prohibited items or suspicious material were recovered from his possession.

Sources, however, said the man was reportedly mentally challenged.
