Saudia Boeing 787 Strikes Parked Philippine Airlines A320 at Manila Airport

A Saudia Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner collided with a parked Philippine Airlines Airbus A320-214 on the tarmac of Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Wednesday, damaging the tail section of the PAL aircraft.

Flight SV871, bound for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, struck the vertical stabilizer of the stationary A320 while taxiing for departure. The incident occurred as the Saudia wide-body jet maneuvered on the ground.

Philippine Airlines stated that no passengers or crew were on board the parked A320 at the time of the collision. No injuries have been reported among ground staff or those on the Saudia flight.

Airport authorities and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) have launched an investigation into the ground incident. Operations at NAIA continued, though officials are assessing any potential impact on flight schedules.
